DPT 713: Medical Physiology and Diseases II

This course further enhances the student's knowledge and understanding of Human Physiology and Disease. The course continues with the foundational elements of structure, function, and pathological processes. Emphasis is placed on the pathological processes at the cellular and molecular level; neurophysiology; muscle physiology; and skeletal and connective tissue. In addition, there will be an introduction to general organ system human physiology and organ system and multisystem pathologies; emphasis is placed on cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, endocrine, and gastrointestinal systems and on diseases that occur in patients that are often treated by the physical therapist. (3 Credit Hours)
